Rehabilitative and Remedial Exercises

Rehabilitative and remedial exercises are carried out during veterinary physiotherapy sessions and can be used by owners between treatment sessions to maximise results and achieve the greatest benefits and improvement in their animal. Remedial exercises have many uses including:
  • Improve an animal’s gait
  • Increase joint stability
  • Develop proprioception, co-ordination, agility and balance
  • Correct posture
  • Increase range of motion,
  • Increase muscular strength including the pelvic, core and back stability within the dorsal and ventral muscle chains
  • Encourage neuromuscular function
  • Re-educate muscles
  • Improve stamina
  • Encourage weight bearing on dis-used limbs
